Consultation

The skin consultation

Twenty minutes for us to get to know your skin and for you to get to know the studio.

You sit with an esthetician, under a magnifying lamp, and she asks how you care for your skin and what you would like to change. Then she tells you what she suggests and in what order. It comes before a peel, dermaplaning or extractions.

  • Twenty minutes, in Spanish or English

  • No pressure to book a facial

  • You choose what to share

  • A family member is welcome to sit in

What we ask

Three things we ask about

  • Your routine

What you use morning and night, in what order, and what you have paused or stopped.

  • Your skin

How it feels by the afternoon, where it runs dry or shiny, and anything that stings or flushes easily.

  • Your day

Whether you spend it in a hot kitchen, a cold ward, a hotel laundry or in the sun, and how your skin is by the end of a shift.

When we suggest a dermatologist or your doctor

A facial isn't the right next step for everything. We say so at the visit and explain why. We don't diagnose, and we don't promise that a facial will change a skin condition.

We suggest seeing a doctor first for

  • A spot or mole that is changing

  • Skin that is painful, hot or swollen

  • Breakouts that are deep or lumpy

  • A rash that spreads or won't settle

  • A reaction to a product that doesn't ease
